MILFORD, MA — In his position as a custodian, Manuel Carneiro interacts with all levels of the Milford Public Schools, from the top right on down to the students, according to the Milford Daily News.

Carneiro, a custodian at Woodland Elementary School, is staging a write-in campaign for a seat on the school committee, the article stated.

According to the article, Carneiro believes his position as a custodian would allow him to bring a unique view to the committee.

"We actually get to see everything. We deal with everybody. Who better to ask than a custodian," said Carneiro, 51, a native of Portugal.

Carneiro has posted signs around town, and hopes to beat one of the three candidates whose names will appear on Monday''s ballot for the three open seats on the committee, the article noted.
