CONWAY, NH — Just weeks after voting to cut several thousands of dollars of custodial services in elementary schools, the Conway School Board unanimously voted to restore a full-time and part-time position, according to The Conway Daily Sun.
Board members said they were not fully aware of the short- and long-term implications that would accompany cutting services, the article stated.
"Who''s going to be coming in early to shovel all of the snow away from the emergency exists this winter?" asked board member Klement.
"With the custodian gone, whose going to do that now? I think we need to revisit this. I think we''re looking at the tip of an iceberg with this decision. I voted for this in a weak-kneed moment," Klement added.
According to the article, the positions, including health benefits, are being funded through an Ed Jobs Grant the district received.
