WASHINGTON–The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) and The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) are currently reviewing a new report that suggests adverse health effects from the use of cleaning and maintenance products in schools, according to a recent press release.
CSPA and SDA said companies named in the report, conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), are responsible companies and practice sound science in the development and design of their products that help create clean and healthy school environments, stated the release.
According to the press release: "We are concerned about the report’s claims that the ability to measure the presence of chemicals associated with these products equates with safety. It does not. More importantly, the report ignores the health benefits from the use of these products."
The two organizations are vowing to continue analyzing the report.
