PHOENIX, AZ — The next contractor hired by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport must provide competitive benefits, including paid sick leave, according to The Republic.
On Wednesday, the Aviation Department recommended considering pay and benefits before price when looking for their next contract cleaner, the article stated.
According to the article, the recommendation comes months after the National Labor Relations Board found GCA Services Inc. of Cleveland had intimidated airport custodians and interfered with their right to unionize.
While GCA denied the allegations, they would fulfill the terms of the board''s consent order to rehire and provide back pay to four workers it had fired, the article noted.
