ARDMORE, PA — The Lower Merion School District is mourning the loss of a longtime custodian who passed away last Wednesday, according to the Mainline Media.

Custodian Bill Sargent, who has been with the district for nearly three decades, died while on his normal work shift Wednesday night, the article stated.

"It is with deep regret that I must inform you of the passing of one of our longtime staff members, Mr. Bill Sargent. Bill has been a night custodian at Lower Merion High School (LMHS) for more than 28 years. He died unexpectedly while on duty. Bill was a graduate of Lower Merion, a resident of the community and an important member of the LM family. We are all saddened by his death," said Principal Sean Hughes in a letter to students and parents.

According to the article, faculty and staff described Sargent as a low-key but sociable man who enjoyed getting to know the teachers in the classrooms that he took care of.
