CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — In order to save money, Del Mar College will outsource its custodians and groundskeepers, according to the Caller-Times.
The college expects to save roughly $720,000 a year from the move, the article stated.
According to the article, Del Mar''s 17 custodians, five full-time groundskeepers and 66 part-time employees were notified of the decision; those employees being replaced by the private company will be out of a job as of September 1.
The winner of the college''s request for proposals is expected to be announced by the end of the month, the article noted.
