SIOUX FALLS, SD — Heavy rains have flooded basements and houses, and homeowners are working around the clock to clean up the mess, according to KELO-TV.
"I''m just really tired and tired of worrying about it every time a storm cloud comes over. I worry it''s going to happen again,” Sioux Falls homeowner John Goodwin said.
Cleaning crews are swamped with phone calls and requests for help, and it''s been like that all summer, the article noted.
Intek says this is one of the busiest seasons they have ever had, which at times has caused a shortage of cleaning equipment.
"In the past, we''ve probably run out of equipment three or four times in the last 25 years, and now we''ve run out of it five times in one summer,” Intek owner Jerry Berg said.
That equipment is essential to help hundreds of people with water damage: Intek officials say removing as much moisture as possible from the floors and walls is key to prevent even bigger problems, the article stated.
