QUEENS, NY — A janitor for the Parks Department is claiming she lost her job over her height, or lack thereof, according to the New York Post.

Sandra Peterson, who is four-foot-eight, said she never had an issue at work until she approached job counselor Louis Marchi about switching a job assignment, the article stated.

According to the article, Peterson was looking to be assigned as a home health aide, which led to her meeting with Marchi.

"He said: ''You''re too short. Are you sure you''re working for Parks?''" Petersen recalled from their first meeting.

A lawsuit, filed last week, claims Marchi is the reason she was let go from the Parks Department and is seeking $12 million in damages for alleged discrimination, the article noted.
