GERMANTOWN HILLS, IL — With the acquisition of proper insurance, Germantown Hills Village Hall will once again be professionally cleaned, according to the Peoria Journal Star.
For the past five years, resident Cynthia Schneider has cleaned two village-owned buildings, but has been idle while the board debated her insurance status, the article stated.
According to the article, the standard recommendation from the village''s insurance carrier for contract employees is to carry a $1 million policy in liability coverage.
Four bids were received for the janitorial job, which includes the community center, two from larger companies, the article noted.
Familiarity with Schneider and her work was the difference maker in the decision, the article added.
