The contest recognizes the positive impact of a professional image on patient satisfaction and awards the winner with a complimentary image apparel makeover worth $10,000 and a $1,000 donation to the hospital''s foundation, the release stated.
According to the release, the food and nutrition department at Jackson-Madison, which was selected among over 200 entries, best demonstrated its need for a new apparel program and how a new program would improve patient satisfaction.
Leila Frankland, foodservice manager at
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, said: "Due to budget cuts, we haven''t been able to update our uniforms recently. We always did our best to serve our patients with a smile, but winning this contest and outfitting our team in new apparel has increased staff morale and brought excitement to the department." The department was also provided with a complimentary Power of Image™ seminar at the facility presented by Roberta Hughes, president of Avidere LLC, designed to inspire and educate staff on the significance of maintaining image standards, the release noted.
