LAFAYETTE, IN — Elite Cleaning Services is expanding its offerings by adding a new division focused on crime scene, trauma and decontamination cleanup, according to the Journal and Courier.
Called The Phoenix, this new division of Elite Cleaning Services is one of the first in the city of Lafayette to specialize in trauma scene cleanup, the story stated.
The Phoenix employees are certified through Texas-based Amedon in crime scene contamination, blood-borne pathogens, confined space and other potential hazards, the story noted.
The Phoenix is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, even though the state of Indiana does not require training or standard compliance, the story added.
Elite Cleaning Services Owner Eric Davis said: "[The Phoenix] is about rising from the ashes. Death is a terrible, heartbreaking thing. We want people to rise from those ashes. The state of Indiana does not have regulations because it''s such a new industry, but we wanted to educate ourselves and make sure we understand all the ins and outs."
