HAINESPORT, NJ — The Hainesport school board has rejected bids from companies that would have privatized custodial, maintenance and groundskeeping services, according to the Burlington County Times.

The district began entertaining bids back in October to provide services from January 1-December 31, the article stated.

According to the article, the option of privatization was put on the table for efficiency and financial reasons.

At a meeting held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, the board rejected the received bids because of an issue with certain specifications, the article noted.

Jonathan Soltesz, chairman of the board''s Finance and Facilities Committee, said a requirement that companies have a state-certified facilities manager was left out of the bids, which caused a discrepancy with the bids and pricing since some companies included the position while others did not, the article added.
