CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Benchmark Inc. has been recognized by Nationwide Foam Recycling for recycling efforts on roof projects designed and specified by Benchmark Inc., according to a press release.

Rod Pfannenstiel of Nationwide Foam Recycling presented a "Gold Award" to Ron Harriman and Alvin Nunnikhoven of Benchmark Inc. for recycling and keeping over 65,000 cubic feet of roof insulation and over 194,000 pounds of roof membrane out of local landfills, the release stated.

"Recycling roofing construction materials such as packaging, metal, wood, insulation and membrane can be a cost-effective option to consider as part of an overall roof management strategy," said Ron Harriman, vice president and partner at Benchmark Inc.

"We have been fortunate to develop relationships with clients who value sustainability and have come to rely on our roof consultants for objective and technically sound information to manage their roofing assets," Harriman added.

According to the release, Benchmark is an active member of The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing, a non-profit organization focused on development and use of environmentally responsible, high-performance roof systems and technologies.
