Leading commissioning association expands staff, focuses on growth

PORTLAND, ORE – The Building Commissioning Association (BCA) has named Liz Fischer as Executive Director effective April 2, 2012. Fischer has acted as Association Manager since 2005.

"I am personally very excited to have Liz Fisher joining the BCA as our full time Executive Director," said Mark Miller, President of the International Board of Directors. "Her leadership skills, knowledge of the commissioning and energy industry and relationships with key stakeholders will be invaluable in helping the BCA continue to grow, advance the commissioning industry and make buildings reach their performance potential."

Fischer has spent the past 23 years in the energy efficiency industry, as one of PECI''s strategic and business development leaders. Her experience has included managing program budgets, personnel, partner relationships and reporting for federal and utility clients. Her knowledge spans beyond the built environment and includes in-depth experience in training and education. She has led the production of the industry’s longest running commissioning conference, the National Conference on Building Commissioning, as well as the creation of a comprehensive training program for commissioning authorities and energy auditors.

The Building Commissioning Association is one of the predominant professional associations in the commissioning industry, and the only one dedicated solely to the practice. The BCA strives to achieve high professional standards, while allowing for the diverse and creative approaches to building commissioning that benefit its profession and its clients. Members include commissioning providers, architects, engineering consultants, owners and other members of the building industry. For additional information please visit
