CHICAGO — The Cook County State''s Attorney has filed a lawsuit against a home air duct and furnace cleaning business based in Arlington Heights, according to WGN-TV.
American Pure Air Inc is the subject of a consumer fraud lawsuit which alleges the air duct cleaning business overcharged for incomplete work and intimidated customers for payment, the article stated.
Legal action was initiated after the State''s Attorney''s Consumer Fraud Unit received over 20 complaints from the public regarding American Pure Air, the article noted.
According to the article, the lawsuit seeks to permanently bar the owners and operators, Gal Yarimi and Barak Schnitman, from engaging in further alleged deceptive practices, $50,000 in damages and calls for refunds to be issued to the victims.
"It is an outrage that consumers seeking honest services to help clean the air within their own homes have been subjected to this type of fraud," says State''s Attorney Anita Alvarez.
"We intend to seek full restitution," Alvarez added.
