WASHINGTON — The environmental impact of the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is still undetermined for states that sit along its coastline. Due to P&G Professional''s connection with Dawn dishwashing liquid, we''ve received a number of inquiries from our customers and business partners regarding Dawn''s wildlife rescue program and how people can get involved, according to a letter from the director of P&G Professional.
Dawn is currently providing additional product to its main wildlife rescue partner, the International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC). IBRRC is the pre-eminent bird rescue organization in the U.S., and since 1971 has responded to more than 150 oils spills, including the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989, the letter noted.
Dawn is providing real time rescue effort updates on their Facebook page, with relevant information and "behind the scenes" perspectives. Additionally, the site contains information on how the public can help with donations to wildlife rescue organizations, the letter stated.
