More than 700 airport workers at JFK International Airport and LaGuardia International Airport, both in New York, NY, and Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ, went on strike Tuesday, July 11, according to the New York Daily News. The striking workers service United, American, and JetBlue airlines. They are in a labor dispute over wages, working conditions, and benefits with their employer, PrimeFlight, Inc., which subcontracts their services. In addition to cabin and terminal cleaners, the workers on strike include wheelchair attendants, skycaps, baggage handlers, customer service agents, and shuttle drivers.
