A study conducted by several members affiliated with the Department of Infection Prevention and Control at Albert Schweitzer Hospital, Dordrecht, Netherlands, tested the effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting sprays and wipes on C. difficile spores.

The study used four common sanitation products to treat infected tiles. The tiles were then tested with an ATP meter to determine each method’s effectiveness. Researchers found wipes performed better than sprays with the same active ingredients and that hydroperoxide displayed the highest bacterial activity levels, according to Infection Control Today.
