Countryside Health Care of Milford, MA, recently announced its partnership with Solect Energy to construct a 261-kilowatt rooftop solar array on top of the health care facility.

“Installing 817 solar panels on Countryside Health Care is a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and emissions in the municipality,” Bill Buckley, chairman of the Milford Board of Selectmen, told the Milford Daily News. “The agreement and innovation will have a game-changing impact as it’s the first municipal building in our community to go solar.”

Countryside Health Care and Solect Energy entered into a Power Purchase Agreement, in which Solect Energy will own and operate the solar array and sell the generated energy back to Countryside Health Care at a reduced, fixed rate for a period of 20 years.
