Disinfectants, Sanitizers and Sterilizers: What’s the Difference?
To put it in the simplest of terms, a properly used disinfectant kills all targeted germs and bacteria.
Some disinfectants “target” certain types of germs and bacteria and not necessarily others.
Sanitizers kill most germs and bacteria when properly used.
Sanitizer can be used in many situations instead of disinfectants.
Sterilizing typically refers to destroying all microorganisms on an item, such as a medical instrument.
This is accomplished using heat, chemicals and other procedures.
