Cintas to Present at Maintenance Shows of America
Protective apparel expert Kevin Best will discuss PPE best practices for arc flash, flash fire, combustible dust and molten metal hazards

CINCINNATI — Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), the largest professional uniform provider in North America, is excited to announce that Kevin Best, Regional Director of Protective Apparel at Cintas, will speak at 11 Maintenance Shows of America events. Beginning on Oct. 15 in Greenville, S.C., Best will break down common workplace hazards, such as arc flash, flash fire, and molten metal and the steps organizations can take to better protect employees from clothing ignition.

“Most companies today have at least a few employees who work on or near energized parts or face other flammable hazards,” said Best. “By taking the time to properly identify these risks, understand industry standards and implement the proper safety procedures, facility managers can significantly reduce the likelihood of injury among employees and the costs associated with those risks.”

With more than 12 years of experience helping organizations properly design, implement and maintain flame-resistant clothing solutions, Best will speak about common workplace hazards, regulations and standards that require personal protective equipment (PPE). Featuring up-to-date, accurate information and best practices, his presentations will address key National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and ASTM standards, as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations relating to flame-resistant clothing and PPE. Afterwards, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about workplace safety as it relates to their environment and view samples of flame-resistant clothing and other PPE.

“We are proud to help educate today’s workforce about the importance of using flame-resistant clothing in workplaces with hazards,” said John Rudy, Senior Manager of Strategy and Marketing, Cintas Uniform Rental. “As corporate initiatives for safety compliance and implementation become more critical, it’s inspiring to see organizations invest in programs that better protect employees.”
