The Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) Promotes ISSA’s Transpare®
BOISE, ID — The Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) is providing support to ISSA’s Transpare® initiative by publishing information about Transpare on its website and via press releases.
According to ISSA: “Transpare is a free product registry that communicates information on the key environmental, health, and safety attributes of commercial cleaning products. It provides purchasers with a way to easily select cleaning products that are appropriate for their facility occupants and that meet the environmental goals of their organizations. Transpare.com provides purchasers with customizable searches, filters, and product comparisons to easily distinguish between green cleaning products and ensure that their purchases are supporting the overall sustainability of the organization. The site also offers a library of contextual information to help [facility professionals] … understand the impact of each reported metric and its value in decision making.”
“Rather than creating a new green certification in a saturated marketplace, ISSA has prudently chosen to “stand on the shoulders of giants” and make what is already available in certification and environmental info, more transparent, concise and reportable using a simple registry and labeling strategy,” said Allen Rathey, president and founder of HFI.
According to the HFI article – Transpare® – Achieving Clarity in the Green Space: “The words of a popular song once said, ‘I can see clearly, now...’ Being able to see clearly into a matter without obstruction, cloudiness or distortion is the meaning of transparency. ISSA's Transpare aims to help us see clearly into the world of green claims without distortion - to create ‘green claims transparency’ by providing clear, standardized green purchasing and labeling information.”
