Portland Public Schools' Tom Pagh Receives the Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PC4HS) 2013 Special Achievement Award

SPARKS, NV — PC4HS™ Founder Rex Morrison has presented the Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS) 2013 Special Achievement Award for training excellence to Tom Pagh, Facilities Operations Manager with Portland Public Schools (PPS).

“Tom is an exemplary individual and trainer, and the initial results at Portland Public Schools (PPS) show this,” said Rex Morrison, founder and president of PC4HS.  “Mr. Pagh epitomizes what custodial training is all about.”

According to Tom Adams, Director of Facilities Operations in Portland Public Schools, Portland, OR:

“Tom started his career in custodial work at age sixteen, while cleaning up for new construction. He also worked as a substitute custodian for Gladstone High School, in Gladstone, Oregon.
“In 2002, Tom joined PHC Northwest in Portland, Oregon.  PHC Northwest provides gainful employment and benefits for people with developmental, physical and mental disabilities.  Tom started there as a Custodian and soon became a Mentor.  A Mentor helps evaluate and develop necessary accommodation plans. Tom later was placed in charge of a training site, then was promoted to Supervisor over the Rainer School District custodial contract and acted as Property Manager for PHC Northwest.
“Tom was hired away from PHC Northwest to become one of five Facilities Operations Managers for Portland Public Schools (PPS), with his focus to be on custodial training and facilitation. His job as Facilities Operations Manager was later modified by putting Tom in charge of evening custodial supervision and training of custodians for 85 schools.  In late 2012, PPS initiated a pilot program featuring the Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS) cleaning system with the intention of eventual adoption of the program throughout the entire school district. Tom was selected as the person to train with Rex Morrison, founder of Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools®, and to implement that training in not only the school selected for the pilot project, but moving forward to the remaining district schools, in addition to his other duties.

“The original pilot school and the following school are both up to speed utilizing the new cleaning process with the next school in line ready to proceed. Tom reports that not only are the custodians embracing the new process, but a head custodian who was experiencing work performance issues has improved so much using the process, he’s received written appreciation notes from the school principal. Tom noted the simplicity of PC4HS has helped the custodian plan his work and direct his subordinates much more effectively.

“Tom Pagh brings years of excellent custodial work and training experience to his job and richly deserves this prestigious award from Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools®.”
