Thursday's Question:Housekeeper Making Bed

I have been asked to provide an estimate to a motel that is looking to subcontract our cleaners for housekeeping.

The motel would be providing all products and they would just be paying for our cleaners to be there five days a week.

Do you think it would be best to charge the motel by the hour or provide them a flat monthly amount for three cleaners? The motel has about 30 rooms.

Thursday's Answer:

You run a high risk of incurring unexpected costs when bidding by the room or giving a flat fee per month.

There are too many variables. It takes less time to clean a stayover because you don't pull the sheets.

That ratio can change from week to week, and who will eat the extra 20 percent labor per room? You have a time loss ... Gary Clipperton, president of National Pro Clean Corporation
