ROSWELL, NM — Mold problems at Goddard High School have many parents worried about the well-being of their children, according to KOAT-TV.
Although three different companies have been brought in to perform air quality tests at the school, some parents are still unsatisfied, claiming the school was not properly tested, the story stated.
Complaints of allergies, asthma-like symptoms and other respiratory ailments from several students has prompted one parent to file a lawsuit against the district, the story noted.
Paul Taylor, who started homeschooling his daughter after she became sick last year, told KOAT-TV: "The purpose of the suit is to properly test Goddard High School in accordance with EPA standards. We''re not asking for money. We''re not suing for damages and to top all that off, I''m willing to pay for the test."
The district claims all three air quality tests have been performed in the past 18 months and it is entirely plausible that the sickened students came into contact with mold in another building, the story added.
