VANCOUVER, WA — Interest in furniture and carpet cleaning is on the rise now more than ever because people are spending more time at home and choosing to clean and restore their existing items rather than purchase new ones, according to The Wall Street Journal
John Steiner, vice president of operations at Rexburg, ID-based Heaven''s Best Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Inc.
, said: "A lot of times when people have money flowing in, instead of cleaning, they go buy new. But when times are tough, people say, ''Let''s clean it up. We can make do one more year and put up with the color.''"
Carpet and upholstery cleaning companies who tout green or organic cleaning processes and chemicals have seen increased business from environmentally conscious customers with pets and children, the story noted.
Carpet cleaners say the longer a stain sits, the harder it is to remove, the story added.
According to the story, it is recommended you call a cleaning professional sooner than later to remove problem soils and stains before they become permanent.
