FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A third-floor restroom leak at the Broward County Courthouse has left over 1,000 files in the second-floor Circuit Court civil room soaking wet and has raised concerns over possible mold growth in the building, according to the Miami Herald.
Munters, a humidity control company, was hired to dry the files after maintenance workers noticed them on Sunday, the story stated.
There have been three water damage events at the courthouse in the past year, including a burst pipe in late 2008, another in January and a broken urinal that flooded several floors, the story noted.
Earlier this month, a group of courthouse employees filed suit, claiming that mold at the building made them sick, the story added.
