BLOOMINGTON, IN — The new sustainability workshop from The Ashkin Group, "The Operational Approach to Sustainability," has just been accepted into the U.S. Green Building Council''s (USGBC) Education Provider Program, according to a press release.
The half-day workshop is designed to help organizations become more sustainable, the release stated.
The four exercises include: Defining sustainability; understanding the three components of sustainability (environmental, social and economic); identifying sustainability indicators; and developing a prioritized "action plan" to implement a sustainable program, the release noted.
Stephen Ashkin, president of The Ashkin Group, said: "One of the components that makes this program unique is that it involves exercises, not long lectures with lots of note taking. There are no ''talking heads.'' Instead, participants learn by doing, which makes learning fun, more effective, and much easier for class participants to take this information back to their offices and implement [sustainable] changes in their own facilities."
Final details as to when and where the workshops will be held and charges for the workshops are now being determined, the release added.
