General hospital fighting VRE

BRANTFORD, CANADA — A vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) outbreak has been identified at Canada’s Norfolk General Hospital (NGH), according to the Brantford Expositor.
The source of the outbreak was found in the hospital’s 3E Medical Unit, the article stated.
The NGH Infection Control team is working to manage this outbreak, noted a media release.
According to the article, control measures included enhanced cleaning procedures.
