WASHINGTON — The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) recently certified 11 more Green Branch® locations of PNC Bank, bringing the total to 66, according to a press release.
PNC currently has 11 more branches either soon-to-be submitted or in the process of being certified, with six Green Branch locations under construction with the goal of opening by the end of 2009, the release stated.
Features of PNC''s Green Branch locations include: Using recycled building materials in construction; low-flow fixtures that reduce water consumption by 4,000 gallons a year; energy efficiency measures that reduce energy consumption by 34 percent annually; and cooling systems designed to protect the ozone layer, the release noted.
The PNC Bank Green Branch locations are certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program and include Green, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels, the release added.
