GREEN BROOK, NJ — A contractor has been brought in to remediate mold discovered in rear wing of the Irene E. Feldkirchner Elementary School, according to the Courier News.
Synatech Inc. will begin cleaning the Aspergillum and Penicillium-like mold spores detected on hard surfaces in several classrooms today and will continue the project through the evening of September 13, the story stated.
Following the completion of the remediation, Green Brook Township Public Schools will bring in PMK Group Inc. to conduct a post-remediation air sampling to gauge whether or not the indoor environment is safe for human occupation, the story noted.
According to the story, students and faculty who normally occupy the 10 affected classrooms have been moved to Green Brook Middle School.
Green Brook Township Public Schools Superintendent Stephanie Bilenker believes the final air quality samples will meet acceptable standards and defected persons will be able to return no later than Monday, September 21, 2009, the story added.
