KNOXVILLE, TN — An Austin-East Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet High School custodian was found dead yesterday morning, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
James Dukes, a custodian with the school since May of 2005, was found dead in a second-floor storage room, the story stated.
According to the story, it remains unclear how long Dukes'' body was in the storage closet before it was discovered.
The custodian, who worked the day shift at Austin-East, was discovered dead around 7:30 a.m. by the school''s principal, the story noted.
School spokesman Russ Oaks said: "The authorities have indicated to us that [Dukes'' death] appears to be of natural causes."
Dukes was 60 years old; no additional information concerning previous medical conditions was immediately available, the story added.
