Monday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: What kind of machine do you use to clean 1-inch ceramic tiles and grout on a bathroom floor? And when you spray buff a floor, how do you know when it is time to strip and refinish?
The answer:
A rotary floor machine with a floor scrub brush will get down into the grout lines. See your JanSan supplier for suggestions. A revolving brush machine will also work well, if one is available.
Spray buffing will remove finish and after time the floor will have to be refinished. When you no longer see any old finish residue on the buff pad and the gloss is not coming back, it is time to scrub and recoat.
