WILMINGTON, DE — EBC Carpet Services Inc. was recently recognized by Delaware Governor Jack Markell for its philanthropic activities by receiving a Jefferson Award, according to the News-Journal.
EBC Carpet Services, which was nominated by the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, was one of four companies to receive the honor, the story stated.
Since 2005, EBC Carpet Services has donated products and labor to maintain the carpet and upholstery at the local Ronald McDonald House, the story noted.
According to the story, when heavy rains flooded a lower section of the house, EBC Carpet Services was there to assist with cleanup efforts and ensure services were able to continue for families staying at the facility.
Chip Rankin, owner of EBC Carpet Services, said: "I believe that being a successful company carries with it the responsibility to give back to our community. I also believe that our associates appreciate working here even more if they know they are working for a company that consistently provides help and support to those who need it most. By providing our MilliCare carpet maintenance services these organizations can use other donated funds more productively and more effectively to help others in our local communities. This honor is one more great way for us to celebrate our twentieth anniversary."
Celebrating 20 years in business, EBC Carpet Services is an independently-owned MilliCare franchise that provides over 375 customers in over 400 facilities with a proprietary dry polymer-based carpet cleaning system, the story added.
