Wood Dale, IL – DKI Services Corporation, North America''s largest diversified disaster services company, today announced that it has acquired Circumspex LLC, a disaster planning software and services company based in Pittsburgh, PA.
DKI Services Corporation, the parent company of Disaster Kleenup International Inc, delivers disaster planning and restoration-related services to many of the leading insurance carriers, property management companies, risk management firms, and many other commercial clients through its over 350 affiliated locations throughout the US and Canada.
Circumspex has brought together experts in facility management, construction, architecture, business management and disaster recovery to develop a sophisticated software platform that assists companies, institutions and families to bridge the gaps between business continuity planning and emergency response planning.
Circumspex’s flagship product, Circumspex Pro, will be initially integrated into DKI’s existing Loss Services offering, including its proprietary Code Red, DKI CAT, and DIAMOND programs, to deliver a robust planning and response capability to the insurance, property management and risk management markets. DKI will also extend the reach of Circumspex’ existing disaster planning education capabilities.
“Acquiring Circumspex is a natural extension of our life cycle business strategy,” said Dale Sailer, DKI president. “For 35 years we’ve led the market in helping people and businesses recover from disaster, but have had limited ability to help them before an event occurs in the first place. By bringing the unique capabilities of Circumspex into the DKI family of services, we can now proactively minimize a client’s exposure to a bad event, and should one still occur, we will be able to enhance the effectiveness of our clients’ and DKI’s response. The end result is significantly reduced risk and lower costs for our clients.”
“Aligning ourselves with DKI makes perfect sense,” said Circumspex president Dave Mistick, who will remain president of the new DKI subsidiary. “A key component to any response plan is identifying the partners that need to respond to any type of disaster event, whether natural, man-made or technological. DKI has distinguished itself as the market leader for over three decades and their service capability, in both technical proficiency and geographic breadth and depth, immediately fulfills the original Circumspex vision of a turnkey disaster planning and response solution.”
Circumspex’ operations staff will be integrated within DKI’s Chicago-area facilities while its management group will remain based in Pittsburgh.
