MILWAUKEE — Over 60 percent of business executives say they believe green buildings are important to attracting and retaining employees, and are implementing energy efficiency training seminars for facility managers, according to the BizTimes
These responses come from a survey completed by Johnson Controls Inc
. and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA)
of over 1,400 executives in a variety of industries, the story stated.
Darryll Fortune, director of global public relations for Johnson Controls Building Efficiency, stated: "The consistent thing is that there is an increase in concern from business leaders on energy."
According to the story, while business executives are increasingly concerned about the cost of energy and are training staff to be more energy efficient, the economy has been a barrier to green improvements in most facilities.
Fortune predicts as the health care debate ends, energy efficiency will be the next big public issue, the story added.
