WASHINGTON — The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International announced that the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has approved two BOMA education series, according to a press release.

According to the release, BOMA''s Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP) and the Sustainable Operations Series (SOS) have surpassed the technical and instructional quality standards needed to make BOMA a USGBC Education Provider.

The BEEP series, developed in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR program, helps building owners and managers reduce energy costs, while the SOS program educates how sustainability measures can improve the bottom line, occupant productivity and the environment, the release stated.

BOMA International Chair James A. Peck said: "BOMA has long been a leader in green education and we are proud to be a USGBC-approved Education Provider. Both BEEP and the SOS series teach industry professionals practical strategies for optimizing energy efficiency and implementing sustainable operating procedures while focusing on ROI and improving the bottom line."

As an Education Provider, BOMA has agreed to regular audits and annual quality reviews by the USGBC, the release added.
