BLOOMINGTON, IN — Sustainable Dashboard Tools LLC, designed to help JanSan distributors and professionals track their environmental impact, has announced the launch of a new website, according to a press release.
According to the release, Sustainable Dashboard Tools is set to launch this summer and was started by Stephen Ashkin, president of The Ashkin Group, executive director of the Green Cleaning Network, and co-founder of Green Cleaning University.
Ashkin said: "Our goal at this time is to introduce the concept of sustainability to the industry so it can better understand what [sustainability] is and how it can benefit them, their community, and the environment. And, we also want the industry to realize that this is the next stage of the green evolution."
The "Dashboard" was first introduced to the public at the 2009 ISSA/INTERCLEAN tradeshow in Chicago, and allows users to track their use of resources like fuel and electricity to gauge their impact on the environment as well as potential areas for energy savings, the release stated.
In addition to Ashkin, Cynthia Schultz, chief operating officer (COO) and web engineer; Dr. Christopher Haynes, chief technology officer and associate professor of computer science at the Indiana University Science of Informatics; and Elizabeth Crosbie, support services manager make up the leadership for Sustainable Dashboard LLC and will oversee all company and customer needs, the release noted.
The development of the "Dashboard" began a few years ago, the release added.
Ashkin said: "It appears our timing could not have been better. With major corporations, such as Wal-Mart, now insisting that their suppliers become more sustainable, companies, including JanSan companies, will need a system, such as this [Dashboard], to benchmark their current impact on the environment so they can take steps to reduce it."
