HUNTINGTON, WV — A Cabell County Schools custodian has been arrested and charged with stealing six laptop computers from Guyandotte Elementary School, according to WSAZ-TV.
Billy Lee Gillenwater, who is charged with six counts of grand larceny, stole the laptop computers on six different days in the month of March, the story stated.
After it was brought to the attention of the Huntington Police Department that a Milton Volunteer Fire Department member purchased a laptop computer from Gillenwater for $50, Gillenwater admitted the thefts to the Guyandotte Elementary School principal.
The six stolen IBM ThinkPad laptop computers, were reported missing during an inventory by Guyandotte Elementary School officials, are valued at $1,500 each, the story noted.
Gillenwater, who has been suspended from his job pending the outcome of his April 12 hearing, had a bond of $10,000 on each grand larceny count set by the Cabell County Magistrate Court, the story added.
