LAKE FOREST, IL — W.W. Grainger Inc. recently released its fiscal first quarter figures, which included a 3 percent raise in quarterly profit, according to a press release.
Net income for the JanSan supplier in the first quarter was $99 million, up from $96 million in the year-ago quarter, the release stated.
Overall sales for the company increased by 14 percent to $1.7 billion, beating analysts'' expectations of $1.63 billion, the release noted.
W.W. Grainger expects sales growth rates of 9 percent to 12 percent for fiscal year 2010, up from previous estimates of 6 percent to 10 percent, the release added.
According to the release, while sales increased by 14 percent, the value of W.W. Grainger stocks fell by 3 percent.
