recently launched the Green Patrol, a program that will bring employees and other volunteers to communities throughout the United States
to help plant trees, aid in cleanup and recycling projects and other environmental efforts, according to a press release
To support environmental projects across the country, the Green Patrol will also provide rewards to people for random acts that benefit the environment, such as putting trash into recycling bins or bicycling to work, the release stated.
Kevin McVeigh, associate marketing director for sustainability for Kimberly-Clark Professional North America, said: "The Green Patrol is a hands-on effort to make a positive impact on the environment, city-by-city and state-by-state. Throughout this year, which marks the 40th
anniversary of Earth Day
, we are going to be putting feet on the street at events that support clean air, reforestation, recycling, composting, as well as other activities that benefit the environment."
The Green Patrol''s first project, which will take place in Atlanta on Saturday, April 17, will feature more than 50 Kimberly-Clark employees cleaning up the Proctor Creek — one of the most environmentally impaired creeks in the Atlanta area

, and also on April 17, the Green Patrol will be assisting with the recycling, composting and cleanup of trash from the Clean Air Council
