NASHVILLE — Students and staff at the Montgomery Bell Academy plan to hold a memorial service for Malith Wiek, a custodian who was recently murdered, according to the Tennessean.
The 30-minute service, during which maintenance staff and students will speak about Wiek and special music will be played in his honor, will take place on Monday at 7 a.m. in Montgomery Bell Academy''s Paschall Theater, the story stated.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Wiek''s body was discovered bloody and lifeless by a school bus driver and it is thought that Wiek was murdered around 12:30 a.m. on April 21.
The senior class, which has started a program in which seniors will do a day of maintenance work each year in Wiek''s honor, will wear handkerchiefs bearing Wiek''s initials during graduation May 30, the story noted.
Montgomery Bell Academy officials have plans to establish a mentoring program in Wiek''s name and designate a landscaping area on the school''s campus to the late custodian, the story added.
