CHICAGOCintas Corporation recently announced the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee, as the winner of its second annual Wear the Care Contest, according to a press release.
The contest recognizes the positive impact of a professional image on patient satisfaction and awards the winner with a complimentary image apparel makeover worth $10,000 and a $1,000 donation to the hospital''s foundation, the release stated.
According to the release, the food and nutrition department at Jackson-Madison, which was selected among over 200 entries, best demonstrated its need for a new apparel program and how a new program would improve patient satisfaction.
Leila Frankland, foodservice manager at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, said: "Due to budget cuts, we haven''t been able to update our uniforms recently. We always did our best to serve our patients with a smile, but winning this contest and outfitting our team in new apparel has increased staff morale and brought excitement to the department."
The department was also provided with a complimentary Power of Image seminar at the facility presented by Roberta Hughes, president of Avidere LLC, designed to inspire and educate staff on the significance of maintaining image standards, the release noted.
