COLUMBIA, MD — The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) recently recognized six professionals with the Water Loss Specialist (WLS) certification, according to a press release.
WLS certification is the highest recognition awarded in the cleaning and restoration industry to professionals engaged in water loss restoration, the release stated.
The RIA''s WLS certification emphasizes high levels of professionalism and training in water damage, drying and restoration, microbial remediation and health and safety, the release noted.
Pete Consigli, the WLS certification advisor, said: "These individuals worked very hard and have shown their commitment to being the best in the industry. They each completed a rigorous course of study, passed an exam with a score of 80 percent or higher and submitted a formal report and a research paper – so this is no small accomplishment."
The new WLS certificants include: Luc Caron of Winmar, William Shawn Silliman of First Restoration Services, Jeffrey D. Owens of Woodard Cleaning & Restoration Services, Scott Black of Statewide Disaster Restoration, Brian T. Johns of InStar Services – Safety Harbor and Johnathan B. Launder of Cousino Harris Disaster Kleenup-Sandusky, the release added.
According to the release, a full listing of all individuals holding the Water Loss Specialist certification is available on RIA''s website: www.restorationindustry.org.
