WASHINGTON — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) announced it will conduct a June 28 Web chat to receive comments about combustible dust issues, according to a press release.
The agency is working on a standard to address dust-related fire and explosion hazards, having issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking last October; this chat is another way to obtain stakeholders'' input, the release stated.
Participants can access it at http://www.dol.gov/dol/chat.htm
and will remain accessible for additional feedback through July 7, the release noted.
OSHA said the chat will focus major issues such as the proposed standard''s scope; the balance between performance- and specification-based requirements; economic impacts; and definitions, the release added.
