BERLIN, CT — The school district spent the last week readying to welcome students, staff and parents back as renovations and updates to school buildings play a role in school business for the coming year, according to the New Britain Herald.
New Superintendent David Erwin joined new Berlin High School Principal Matthew J. Harnett for freshmen orientation Friday to help students and parents become familiar with expectations, services and transition into a successful academic year, the article stated.
The McGee Middle School indoor air quality project will continue even as children soon dominate the premises, the article noted.
"They are replacing the air ventilation system and the roof is due for replacement," said Gary Brochu, board president.
"This is a project we hope can be done by next summer as well," Brochu added.
