The CM B2B Trade Group Welcomes A New Face

The CM B2B Trade Group is proud to announce that D. Cecelia Martinez was recently hired as an assistant editor.

In her new role, Martinez will be responsible for the CM e-News Daily™ and various other editorial tasks for both Cleanfax® and Cleaning & Maintenance Management® magazines.

In related news, Aaron Baunee, previously the CM B2B Trade Group associate editor, was promoted to managing editor of Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine.

Concurrent with Baunee''s promotion, Richard DiPaolo, previously the senior editor of Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine, was advanced to the position of editorial director.

DiPaolo will oversee the editorial integrity of both Cleaning & Maintenance Management and Water Technology® magazines.

Contec Inc. Names New Company President

Contec Inc. recently announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Avi Lawrence has been named president of the company.

Lawrence, who will continue to manage accounting and financial functions, will acquire responsibility for Contec''s operating businesses in the cleanroom and surface preparation markets.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Lawrence has more than 16 years'' experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions and has been with Contec Inc. since 2006.

The Andersen Company Hires Region Manager

The Andersen Company recently announced the addition of Ryan Rittenbury as Southeast region manager for their Janitorial Supply division.

Rittenbury, who will be responsible for supporting the sales efforts of Andersen''s Southeast sales representatives, will be active in training distributor sales representatives and working with distributors to grow their mat business.

Accommodation Mollen Hires Two

JanSan distributor Accommodation Mollen Inc. recently hired Joe Raccuia as the director of sales and Jim Bolland as an equipment specialist.

Raccuia has more than 20 years of experience in both the distribution and manufacturing sides of the JanSan industry.

Bolland comes to Accommodation Mollen from the Tennant Company.

Amano Pioneer Eclipse Appoints President

Amano USA Holdings Inc. recently announced the appointment of Thomas Benton as president of the Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation (APEC).

Benton has over 20 years of experience leading growth through new products, new categories and geographic expansion.

Benton said: "I believe there is significant opportunity for growth in our industry and I am eager to be a part of a company that is working to promote and develop that potential."


Zep Inc. Completes Merger

Specialty chemical manufacturer Zep Inc. recently acquired maintenance chemical manufacturer Amrep Inc. for a price of approximately $64.4 million.

Amrep Inc. will operate as Zep Inc.''s ninth division and will maintain its current headquarters in Marietta, Georgia.

Zep Inc., which expects the acquisition to provide an additional $100 million in annualized revenue, believes the acquisition will be earnings accretive within the first year.

D&A Building Services Named Largest In Central Florida

D&A Building Services Inc. was recently ranked as the largest commercial cleaning/janitorial company in Central Florida for the second consecutive year by the Orlando Business Journal.

Al Sarabasa, Jr., president and founder of D&A Building Services Inc., said: "Considering the economic pressures of the past two years, retaining our number one ranking is a true testament to the dedication our staff."

Powr-Flite Launches New Website

Powr-Flite has launched its new e-Commerce website designed to improve the customer experience.

One of the key goals of the new website is to reduce the amount of time it takes Powr-Flite customers to find, understand the features and benefits of and select cleaning tools and equipment.

The site took nearly one year to develop and, according to Adrian Zavala, web manager for Powr-Flite, "The difference between the new site and the old one is like night and day."

Multi-Clean Graduates Distributor Sales Representatives

Multi-Clean Products recently graduated 25 distributor sales representatives as part of its Green Cleaning Advisor certification and training program, which consists of webinars that educate and train distributor sales representatives on how to assist their customers in setting up a green cleaning program.

Upon graduation, each participant received the Green Cleaning Advisor compact disk read-only memory (CD-ROM) and a graduation certificate.

Starco Chemical Hires Representative

Starco Chemical recently contracted with manufacturer representative firm Inter-Mark Sales to represent the company in the New England area.

The new relationship is effective immediately.

HP Products Finalizes Acquisition

HP Products Corporation recently completed the acquisition of JanSan distributor Great Lakes Supply and Chemical Inc.

Joe Nelmar, owner and president of Great Lakes Supply and Chemical for the past 20 years, will remain with HP Products as the head of its Calumet division.

Access Group Changes Company Name

Effective immediately, the JanSan and foodservice manufacturers'' representative agency Access Group Southern California will now be known as Access Partners.

Jeffrey Stone, president of the JanSan Division of Access Partners, said: "Since our representative agency began in 1966, partnerships with our manufacturers, customers and employees have been our most valuable investments. By putting the concept of ''partnership'' in our name, it demonstrates our continued commitment to our partners for many more years."
