FORT WHITE, FL — A custodian at Fort White High School was arrested Thursday after investigators said he stole two laptops, a welding machine and various amounts of cash from the school, according to WJXT-TV.
Deputies said Lonnie Hudson, 25, of Lake City, stole the items over an extended period of time.
Hudson is also accused of using his school board-issued fuel card to put gasoline in his personal truck, the article noted.
The Columbia County School Board will conduct audits of the fuel receipts to determine the amount of fuel deputies said Hudson stole, the article stated.
According to the article, deputies estimate the value of the recovered property to be more than $1,500; the amount of cash stolen from classrooms has yet to be determined.
