Friday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: With a budget of $2,200-$2,600, what portable extractor and/or powerhead might you suggest we look at?
I know this is rock bottom pricing, but if possible, could you give me any ideas? We are cleaning commercial glue down (70 percent).
The answer:
A good overall machine would be a self-contained extractor, perhaps 9-12 gallons with a power-head brush.
Ask your local dealer or JanSan distributor if you can rent or use a demo unit to see if it fits your needs.
A self-contained unit delivers faster cleaning times than a wand unit. The key to good soil release is applying a premium pre-spray to the carpet prior to extraction.
