HARRISBURG, PA — Before he died this summer at the age of 61, Notre Dame High School custodian Steve Schleppy was a go-to employee who touched many lives, according to the Express-Times.
Whether it was chaperoning a dance, lining the football field or lending an ear to a student, Schleppy was always eager to help, the article noted.
Thanks to the artistic talents of senior Mark Shimko, Schleppy''s memory lives on in the form of a mural dedicated in his honor on the wall of the recently redecorated library, the article stated.
According to the article, the finished product touches on all aspects of life at Notre Dame — religion, social clubs and events, sports and academics — and has a brown and purple cross as the centerpiece.
